The Northern Sierra Air Quality Management District regulates open burning in Sierra County. Better, cleaner alternatives are recommended if possible. Information on open burning and clean alternatives can be found on the District website. Of special note, Burn Permits may be required by CALFIRE (can be found online), and Burn Day Status is provided by the Air Quality District with regulations to follow.
